Summer Time

It's finally summer...well it has been for awhile now, but I haven't had anything really big to blog about since I graduated high school.

So I'm going to break down my senior year:

Summer 2011:
Took my second year of summer school. I enrolled in Civics and Econ for advancement so I wouldn't have to take the courses during the academic year. Had fun performing my last "Fourth of July Parade" apart of the color guard's weapon line. Oddly enough, It was the only time I was placed on weapon during my four years in guard. Freshmen year I was on flag, sophomore year banner (Helped the newbies with marching), then junior flag (Not enough new members that knew what they were doing). In August, I experienced my last band camp ever!!!...unless I do drum core, which isn't too likely (way to expensive). Dropped AP Literature from my schedule, I chickened out because I didn't want to overload myself and end up failing.

Fall 2011:
Showed up to school and picked up my schedule only to discover that I wasn't enrolled in an English class. Cleared that up with the counselors, which was, as always, a hassle. So here's how my final schedule looked:
0-Journalism
1-Teachers Aide
2-AP Studio Art
3-English 4
4-Year Book (Annual Staff)
5-AP Calculus AB
6-Tall Flag
7-March Band PE (After school practice)
The beginning of my senior year wasn't the best of times. I was stressed out by color guard, college apps, and surrounded by deadlines. On top of that I never seemed to have enough money to cover the expense of living my life. Everything just became difficult. On the positive side to this I tried out and made the 2012 Rose Parade and will be a pageantry flag for PCC.
While all this was happening I received my very first 'C' on my transcript and wasn't too excited by it. I should have known better to take AP Calculus, since math is the subject I struggle with the most, but my state of mind then was "It won't be too bad and I can just push myself!". That wasn't the case though because I didn't plan to be under the amount of stress that I ended up with.

Winter 2011-12:
The New Year definitely marked a new me. I finally committed to finally quitting color guard after being apart of the team my entire high school career. I didn't want to keep pestering my folks for money to pay for it, since Color Guard can be very expensive especially after 4 years of costumes and fees, besides they had better, more important, uses for their money. Quitting, wasn't something I did spontaneously. I literally thought about it for months, since my parent's money woes have been long term, and at one point I didn't really know what I should have done. I really loved performing and there are only so many opportunities for me to do something like color guard. However, in the end I decided it was more important to help my parents out, then selfishly think of just what I want.

After that it took me awhile to get use to the extra time I had since I wasn't committed to color guard anymore. In times of boredom I wondered, "How do people do this?". Anyways, I caught up with all my deadlines for yearbook, and the magazine team got around to publishing our last edition as editors.

Soon I found myself with all this time. I was done with guard, yearbook was close to being finished, and my job as magazine editor was coming to a close. I felt like I finally over came the giant speed bump in my senior year. I felt very accomplished.

Spring 2012:
Spring definitely came too fast and before I even realized it I only had 100 days left of high school. I guess it finally hit me that I probably won't be seeing 95% of the people that surround me today. Not that is a bad thing, because I almost prefer not seeing some of the people I went to high school  with anyways.

I almost can guarantee that I will not be passing the Calculus AB AP test, because the free response section definitely killed any chance I had of at least getting a 3. With AP Studio art I at least have a chance.

Prom was horrible. End of story.

However, I got my first job!!! I am now a proud employee of a movie theater!!! LOL. And here I thought I totally blotched that interview.

Then came Senior Honors Night, Senior Breakfast, then Graduation.

It was a good run, I'm glad to say, "it's finally over".
